Mileway, the leading pan-European last mile logistics real estate company, today announces it has signed seven leases totalling over 13,000 sqm across Sweden, as demand for last mile space among logistics providers continues to grow throughout the country.
Leases for two properties in Växjö and Helsingborg have been signed with Instabox Sweden AB, a fast-growing Swedish company specializing in shipping services for online retailers, delivering packages to strategically placed smart boxes, often within the same day as placement of an online order. The first lease provides 2,100 sqm of high-quality space in Växjö, which has been fitted with bespoke equipment that supports the company’s core activities. The other lease consists of an additional 600 sqm in an asset in Helsingborg, strategically located between the city centre and motorway E6. Both properties are located next to major roads, providing valuable connections to key cities as the business continues to expand.
The third agreement, for a property in Enköping, has been signed with Åhmans Transport & Logistik AB, a Swedish logistics provider and existing customer. The lease sees the company take an additional 3,150 sqm, giving Åhmans Transport & Logistik over 4,500 sqm in total, as Mileway continues to support their growth. The property is in an excellent location, well positioned to serve the communities in Stockholm, Västerås and Örebro due to its proximity and access to the E18 motorway.
A further lease has been signed with GDL Transport & Logistik, a logistics operator with a presence across many cities in Sweden and an existing customer of Mileway. The new agreement will provide 436 sqm of space in Kalmar. Mileway’s close relationship with the customer and diverse portfolio has enabled it to meet GDL’s need for additional space at short notice.
The fifth agreement has been signed with GN Logistics, a storage and distribution specialist and subsidiary of GN Transport. The company is an existing customer in two other Mileway properties in Halmstad, the customer’s home market. The new agreement sees them take another 4,400 sqm in the same area, with easy access to the E6 motorway, the main road connecting Gothenburg and Malmö, Sweden’s second and third largest cities. Mileway has also recently upgraded the property, including LED lighting and e-vehicle charging.
In Örebro, a lease has been signed with existing customer DSV Road, the global transport and logistics provider, for an additional 1,200 sqm. As well as having a growing urban community, Örebro is a well-established hub for logistics due to its central position in Sweden and its excellent infrastructure links to both the rest of the country and the entire Nordic region.
Lastly, Mileway has signed a lease with new customer, Eketånga Transport AB (Paketbudet), a Halmstad based logistics company. The agreement sees the company take 1,400 sqm in Halmstad, in a property located only 500 meters from the highway, giving it excellent connections to both Malmö and Gothenburg.
“We are seeing growing demand for last mile space from logistics companies across Sweden, as businesses continue to seek locations that bring them closer to their customers and end-users. These seven leases show that this isn’t just a phenomenon in Stockholm, Malmö and Gothenburg, but also in Sweden’s regional cities.”
