Mileway, Europe’s largest and leading owner of last mile logistics real estate, today announces it has successfully agreed several significant new leases and renewals in the German market.
The agreements see existing Mileway customers take up an additional 27,000sqm in total, as it becomes increasingly important for businesses to find high quality space close to the communities they serve.
In the Cologne region, Mileway has further grown its relationship with DPD, one of Europe’s largest parcel delivery services, and an existing Mileway customer in the Netherlands, France and the UK. The 6,500 sqm property in Josef-Linden-Weg includes several features specifically configured for parcel delivery such as cross-dock facilities. This, together with the excellent location in the outskirts of Cologne, mean the site can immediately plug into DPD’s existing network across Germany, as demand for parcel services continues as a result of ecommerce.
In Soltau, Lower Saxony, Mileway has successfully renewed and expanded the lease with a significant retail client to over 8,000 sqm. Under the terms of the renewed lease, Mileway has provided an additional unit adjoined to the customer’s pre-existing space enabling them to seamlessly maintain distribution of goods to its stores and customers across the region.
“These renewals – with three customers all from different industries – not only demonstrate the diversity in our customer base, but also the ongoing demand for high quality properties that place businesses close to their customers.”
Georg Starck, Mileway Country Director for Germany
In Monheim Am Rhein in the North Rhine-Westphalia area, Mileway has doubled the size of the lease with existing client Chemion Logistik GmbH, a specialist logistics company for the chemicals industry, to over 8,000 sqm. The expanded space, which offers flexible storage and loading options and is a short drive away from Leverkusen, the region’s hub for the chemical industry, will allow Chemion to meet the growing need in the chemical sector for on demand supply.
Georg Starck, Mileway Country Director for Germany, commented: “These renewals – with three customers all from different industries – not only demonstrate the diversity in our customer base, but also the ongoing demand for high quality properties that place businesses close to their customers. At Mileway, we pride ourselves on being able to anticipate and flexibly adapt to the property needs of our customers, and it is fantastic to see this so successfully executed by the team as Mileway continues to grow its presence in Germany.”
